The San Francisco online station cherry-picks its goodies for SoundCloud

I may be new to HydeFM, the San Francisco Internet station, but it isn’t new at all—it was founded in late 2019 and thrived during lockdown. “Stations like HydeFM and Oakland’s Lower Grand Radio grew exponentially as people sought connection and comfort through music,” reported KQED last February. “Now, with venues reopened, these stations are pulling their digital communities into physical space.” And HydeFM seems pretty vital, judging from a very selective listen to a month of programs. A key advantage Hyde’s SoundCloud has for experiments like this one is that it is cherry-picked: most of what goes out from streaming HQ isn’t uploaded there. It’s maybe a few shows per week, but no more. Say what you will, but this does save a person time. This one is for paying subscribers only.
