This wasn’t supposed to be a post unto itself. Spoiler alert: I’ve been cogitating a From the Shelves entry (here are the first and second) on five Kompakt mix CDs. I was looking for something unrelated to that when I found an old Facebook post extolling the glories Wolfgang Voigt’s RA.570 (April 30, 2017). Subtitled the “All The World Loves Lovers Happy Hour Popcast” by its maker, this was the testament of a stringently ideological non-DJ—an hour of gooey eighties goodies, most orbiting the New Pop. I figured I’d listen to it again and use it for the intro to that upcoming entry, easy peasy. Then I got another idea. (The rest of the post is for paying subscribers.)
